2009 Senior Football Players
Ryan Kalnins ~ DE/TE
Kalnins will return as a captain in 2009 while having an impressive Junior season from his Defensive End spot on defense. Ryan was also a stand-out on Offense while playing Tight End in blocking situations. Defensively, in only five games due to injury, Kalnins averaged 5.3 tackles per game, recorded 2 sacks and recovered 4 fumbles on a defense that led the Copper Division in 2008. Kalnins has a GPA of 94.50 and is awaiting acceptance in the West Point Military Academy. He is the son of Richard and Siobhan Kalnins of Watertown.

Ryan Kindulas ~ OL/DL
Ryan Kindulas will return as a starter on the Offensive Line in 2009. Kindulas had a successful second half of the season in 2008 while adapting to his starting role. Ryan is one of four starters returning up front for the Crusaders, who also helped the team rush for over 1,700 yards and 17 touchdowns last season. Kindulas is a member of the National Honor Society with a 98.92 GPA. He has also maintained First Honors throughout his career at Holy Cross and was a Award Winner of the St. Michael's Book for Academic Excellence. Ryan has applied to the University of Connecticut and Boston College. He is the son of Robert and Melinda Kindulas of Watertown.
Brandon Monti ~ LB/OL
Brandon Monti will return as the Starting "Zip" Linebacker for the Crusaders this season. Monti recorded 32 tackles (8 solo) from that spot as a started for the final five games. Brandon recorded the game-winning stop on Thanksgiving last season on fourth and inches to preserve the win on the first-ever home football on Thanksgiving. Monti has already entered the Business world by starting his own clothing line, he has also applied to Post University. Brandon is the son of Michael and Diana Monti of Waterbury.
Brian Kalosky ~ DE/TE
Brian Kalosky will compete for a starting job at Defensive End after a successful Junior season from that spot in 2008. Kalosky led the team with 5 sacks and also recorded 35 tackles (13 solo, 3.9 average). Kalosky will also see time at Tight End during the 2009 campaign. Brian is a member of the National Honor Society, The National Society of High School Scholars while recording a 89.08 GPA and maintaining Second Honors throughout his career at Holy Cross. Kalosky has applied to St. John Fisher College, The University of Rhode Island, Western New England College, Wilkes University and Husson University. Brian is the son of Brian and Barbara Kalosky of Plymouth.
Gregory Warner ~ WR/PK
Gregory Warner will return as a receiver and handle most of the Crusaders' place-kicking duties this fall. Warner was the leading receiver at the Junior Varsity level in 2008 catching seven touchdown passes while also playing in the secondary for the Varsity team in nickel coverage where he intercepted a pass. Warner is also a stand-out Track & Field athlete for the Crusaders and is a member of the National Honor Society where he serves as Secretary. Greg has a GPA of 90.00 and has maintained second honors throughout his entire career at Holy Cross. He has applied to The University of Connecticut, Renssellaer Polytechnic Institute, The University of Vermont and The University of New Hampshire. Greg is the son of Brian and Margaret Warner of Woodbury.

Taylor Birtwistle ~ OL/DL
Taylor Birtwistle returns as the starter at Center on the Offensive Line for 2009. Birtwistle is one of four returners up front and will also see significant time on the Defensive Line this season. Taylor was All-City Honorable Mention last season. He has an 84.60 GPA and has applied to Quinnipiac University, Endicott College, The University of Connecticut, Central Connecticut State University and Southern Connecticut State University. Taylor is the son of John and Judith Birtwistle of Oakville.
Jacob Szyndlar ~ WR/DB
Jacob Szyndlar will return as a starting receiver for the Crusaders in 2009. Szyndlar was used primarily as a possession receiver in 2008 as he recorded 14 receptions for 138 yards (9.86 avg.). Jacob also had a fumble recovery while be used sparingly on Defense last season. This season, Szyndlar will be a probable starter in the Secondary for the Crusader Defense where he had 11 tackles (7 solo) in 2008. He was also selected as an Athletic Leadership Representative for Holy Cross. Jacob has applied to Roger Williams University, Salva Regina, and Western Connecticut State University. He is the son of John (Jr.) and Lisa Szyndlar of Plymouth.
Patrick Cronin ~ RB/LB
Patrick Cronin returns at Running Back for the Crusaders after rushing for 1,062 yards in 2008. Cronin scored 11 touchdowns last season and averaged over 5 yards per carry (5.03) while also catching five passes for 24 yards during the course of the season. Cronin will anchor a backfield that will look to control the game during the 2009 campaign and he will also look to utilize his athletic ability by playing Outside Linebacker on Defense. Patrick was also the team's leading kickoff returner last season, averaging over 20 yards per return (20.50). He is the son of Timothy and Kelly Cronin of Prospect and is the brother of 2003 Football Graduate Adam Cronin, who is the current Holy Cross All-Time Leading Rusher.
